Born and raised in Detroit, Craig Kowalewski has always been a man led by his loves. His love of the game of hockey led him to leaving home at the young age of 16 and heading to Canada, where he ended up playing semi-professional hockey. During the off season, Craig started working at a plant in the heart of Buffalo, New York. It was there he met the love of his life, a young Buffalonian named Tammy. His true love led him around Buffalo and exposed him to a new love: the rich and unique flavors that her native city had to offer. When it came time to raise a family, this new venture led them to moving their young family to Michigan, where the Kowalewski's settled in Macomb.

Throughout the years, Craig and Tammy have vigorously searched for the authentic Buffalo taste they left behind, but never quite found it. Rather than being beaten, their shared love of Buffalo food led the Kowalewskis to founding Buffalo Pizza and Wings.
